From the authentic pews from 1909 to Molly's handmade vintage dress, to the violinist playing a beautiful serenade as Molly and her father walked down the isle, everything came together perfectly for this beautiful wedding at the Historic Woodlawn Estate. A culmination of years of effort acquiring vintage chairs, bells, plates and other items, Molly along with her family and friends worked tirelessly to decorate not only her wedding venue, but also her bridal shower back in April! I was really impressed by their efforts and as a lover of all things vintage myself, I thoroughly enjoyed documenting Molly's wedding and bridal shower. Not only did their decorating abilities shine through, the selfless and caring nature of Molly and Zach and their family and friends stood out to me; it was awesome getting to know everyone at the bridal shower and returning to familiar faces on the wedding day!
By a stroke of luck, we narrowly escaped the rain for the ceremony and bridal portraits. Although, we were prepared with a barrel of clear umbrellas and camera covers to take portraits in the rain if necessary. A definite example of how important it is to have a rain plan in place for your wedding day! After the bridal portraits both outside and inside the beautiful estate, we gathered for the incredibly decorated reception. Heartfelt dances took place, and the song choice of 'Butterfly Fly Away' by Miley Cyrus for the father-daughter dance was iconic. The vintage cake with a ceramic angel topper was truly nostalgic, and my film camera loved it. To end the night, all the guests rang the vintage bells Molly had collected to send her and Zach off to their honeymoon!
